Arabis is a fast grower, easy to establish (it readily self-seeds), and forms a mass of white flowers very early in the Spring. After it blooms it can look messy but a light trimming takes care of that. In our Alaska garden the Arabis bloomed with the Pasque Flower (Pulsatilla) about May 19th in the cool Spring of 2001. (The Mountain Buttercup wins though for earliest bloomer in 2001!) (ke 2001)
