Summit Lake on a cool Autumn day

Tiny alpine plants such as dwarf willows and Alpine Bearberry color the high alpine slopes. A patch of last year's snow remains on a slope and this year's first snows dust the peaks. Look close at the rock strewn slopes and you just might spot a flock of Ptarmigan.
